EXPERIENCE DAYS
Immerse yourself in ancient woodlands and experiencing the peace and tranquillity of nature.
Carry out practical conservation, helping to preserve and shape this landscape, whilst surrounded by beautiful flora and fauna.
Practice centuries old crafts, working with an experienced leader, and create a craft item that you can take away. Finish the day by relaxing and sampling local Kentish produce in an idyllic sylvan setting.

Wellbeing Walks - Various Locations
These walks, delivered at a variety of beautiful countryside and lovely green space locations, are part of a series of free walks and events, funded by Involve Kent.
These walks and events are for over 55s and under 55s with long term health conditions.

Woodland Walk and Refreshments
Come and join us for a gentle walk, with a break stop for hot drinks, in the relaxed atmosphere of a woodland site. This is an opportunity to walk around one of the remaining sites of ancient woodlands whilst meeting like-minded people for a chat and a laugh. Experience the health benefits of spending time in nature, with the added benefit of a hot drink.
This is part of a series of free walks and events, funded by Involve Kent. These walks and events are for over 55s and under 55s with long term health conditions, at a range of locations. Participants will be asked to complete a short, confidential health questionnaire.
The meeting point is the gate on Hockers Lane at Horish Wood, where there is on-road parking. Nearest bus stop is in Detling village, 5-10 minutes’ walk.
Please wear suitable clothes and footwear to this walk as the path may be muddy. Well behaved dogs on leads welcome.

Bat Walk at Haysden Country Park - Fri 27th May
Join the Medway Valley Countryside Partnership and discover the wonderful world of Bats at Haysden Country Park. Learn about these fascinating creatures and then enjoy a short nighttime walk and, with the use of bat detectors, see and hear the bats at the park emerge and begin to forage.
Open to all but, due to the lateness, we recommend no children under the age of 8. Wear good walking shoes due to uneven paths and bring a torch. Insect repellent is recommended.
Please note, parking is not in the main park car park but the smaller Haysden Water car park near the flyover off Lower Haysden Lane (what3words zoom.leads.chart)

'For Queen and Countryside' - Queens Jubilee Event @ Leybourne Lakes Country Park - Thu 2nd June
Join the Medway Valley Countryside Partnership team for a day of celebration at Leybourne Lakes Country Park. Celebrate our countryside and wildlife via performance and art during the Queen's Jubilee celebrations.
See Play on Words Theatre Company performing their Plant Hunters Play. Watch Morris Dancers and try your hand at Willow Weaving. Browse stalls selling natural wood products and wildlife art and listen to unique stories whilst doing arts and crafts. Also....discover more about the local wildlife via sweep netting and mini-beasting with MVCP staff.Open to all and free to attend (parking charges apply at the park).
